MEF (MISSION EDUCATION FUND, 선교교육원)는 해외 선교지 기독교 선교교육을 기획하고 지원하는 기관입니다. MEF는 신학교육기관이 아니라 신학적으로 건전한 교수, 신학교, 학생 등을 발굴, 측면 지원하는 “선교교육원”입니다.
MEF는 피식민지 3대 대륙(아시아, 아프리카, 중남미)을 해외교육선교 지원범위로 한정하고, 각각 MEF-Aisa, MEF-Africa, MEF-Latin America 등으로 명명합니다.
MEF는 해외 선교교육의 커리큘럼을 작성하고, 이에 따라 현지 신학교에 교수요원을 파송하거나, 현지 신학생을 미국이나 한국 등지로 유학할 수 있도록 지원합니다.
MEF는 2003년 금문교회 내에 설치되었지만, 세금공제 등 준비를 갖추어 비영리기관으로 독립할 예정입니다.
MEF-Africa는 아폴리네리 목사 지원에 집중하며, 여력이 나면 두 번째 세 번째 학생을 선발, 지원할 것입니다.
참고로, MEF-Latin America는 2010-2014년 간 콜롬비아의 미겔 페르난데스 목사를 후원했습니다. 페르난데스 목사는 2014년 5월에 ABSW에서 DMin 학위를 받았습니다.
MEF (MISSION EDUCATION FUND) is an institution planning and supporting mission education abroad. MEF is an organization reaching out to evangelical professors and students and supporting their teaching and education at proper seminaries.
MEF confines its supporting areas to Asia, Africa, and Latin America, which had been colonized in previous centuries. MEF names each of the projects as MEF-Aisa, MEF-Africa, MEF-Latin America.
MEF creates curriculum for mission education. Accordingly, we send teachers to mission fields and bring students in mission sites to the US or Korea.
Founded in Golden Gate Church in 2003, MEF plans to make a non-profit independent organization.
MEF-Africa will extend its support to another students with enough fund acquired.
MEF-Latin America supported Rev. Miguel Fernandez in 2010-2014 for DMin degree program at ABSW. Rev. Fernandez was awarded the degree in 2014.
