SPR SEMINAR

Thesis: The SPR Seminar is to teach a biblical interpretation of the Bible covering the Canon (the 66 books of the Bible) so that students may apply the way of interpretation in their daily living.

Definitions:

S. Separation

P. Placement

R. Rest

To put these into a diagram:

First, it comes from the Creation (Genesis 1-2).

The purpose of the Creation is in the Rest.

The Fourth Command.

Isaiah 43:21.

Second, it comes from the Exodus (Exodus 1-40).

The purpose of the Exodus is in the Rest.

Exodus 3:12, 18.

Exodus 8:1.

Exodus 9:13.

SPR comes from the dynamics of the Creation@the Exdodus.

The Creation@the Exodus will be found in way of the Salvation of God in the Bible.

Example 1: Isaiah proclaimed Salvation by way of new-Creation. Cf. Isaiah 43.

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

The people whom I formed for my self that they might declare my praise.

How to apply this interpretation principle to my living?

1. Claim-Reason-Warrant

To understand the Word of God. Example John 3:16

C: He gave his only Son

R: anyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life

A: for God so loved the world

SPRx as Claim: the “x” is the personal figure in the Bible, like Moses, Abraham, and David. The “x” also is you who are readig the Bible. You are to apply yourself to the command of SPR: SPRx.

S: Go, from your country, and your kindred, and your father’s house

P: to the land that I will show you.

R: And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, an in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

S: So Abraham went, as the LORD had told him

P: and they set out to go to the land of Canaan.

R. So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

You are the x, applied to the commands. It was grace by the Lord Jesus who cricified himself, forgiving yoiur sins. Ephesians 1-3.

Now, what shall you do now?

S: Repent your sins! “Go, and from now on sin no more!” (John 8:11d)

P: Where you are with the Lord Jesus is the very blessing. Not to have, but to be with.

R: Worship to God give you ultimate rest.

C@E as Reason: C@E is what you need to remember. God has done the Creation@the Exodus for you.

We need to be re-Created. Cf. Psalm 51

Create in me a clear heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me!

Psalm 51:10

We need to be saved from the past, the sin. Cf. Psalm 1:1.

New fellowship in Jesus Christ.

New friends.

New routine.

New way of living.

A as Warrant: I AM. Exodus 3:14. Here we find, YHWH himself provides the very Warrant to us.

To put this into one sentence:

All the commands (SPR) are faithful, because of C@E, based on A.

To understand how to obey the Word of God.

2. SPR in Spirituality in the Living

2-1. Separation: from the sins, from the past, from the bondage

2-2. Placement: to the forgiveness, to the future, to the freedom

2-3. Rest: rest in worship. Sacrifice. Jesus the Sacrifice gives us the rest.

Matthew 11:28; 28:9.

John 20:19-23.

Hallelujah! The mission given to the ones in the SPR (SPRx).

Amen! The Word will be fulfilled in me.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
