하나님께 가까이 함이 내게 복이라(시편73:28)

Acts 7:54-60 “Rejection”

Stephan pointed the wrong things of the Jews in his last sermon. It is they killed Jesus and refused the truth that He was sent by God. Stephan claimed the sad and ironic fact in his preaching that people who dedicated their lives to God are suffered often. For example, Abraham and his people were slaved for 400 years even though God was with them, also Joseph’s life was in God and walked with Him, but he was sold by his own brothers to Egypt as a slave. Additionally Moses was called by God, but he was rejected by the Israelites. And he also insisted that God’s people still groaned under the oppression by the Jews. But sadly Stephan was stoned and killed by the Jewish because of his belief in God and the faith in Jesus.

Although we are rejected when we spread the gospel of Jesus to the world, but we should live happily depending on Jesus and keep speaking up about Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life as our former believers devoted themselves to spreading the gospel.

스데반은 자신의 마지막 설교에서 유대인들이 행한 잘못을 지적합니다. 그것은 유대인들이 하나님으로부터 보내심을 받은 예수님을 거부하고 죽였다는 것이었습니다. 이것은 새로운 것이 아니라 오래 전부터 있었던 일이었습니다. 스데반은 하나님께서는 아브라함과 그의 자손들과 함께하셨지만 400년동안 종살이 했고 요셉도 하나님과 함께 동행 했지만 형제들의 질투로 인하여 애굽에 노예로 팔려갔고 하나님으로부터 부르심을 받은 모세도 이스라엘사람들에게 거부되었었다고 말합니다. 그리고 지금도 유대인들이 하나님으로부터 보내심을 받은 사람들을 핍박하고 있다고 지적한 것입니다.

이 말을 들은 유대인들은 스데반을 돌로 쳐 죽이게 되면서 돌아서지 않는 모습을 보입니다.

그리스도인으로 살면서 예수님을 전하는 것은 많은 경우 환영 받지 못합니다. 그러나 그럼에도 불구하고 우리의 믿음의 선조들이 그러했듯이 우리는 이 길을 주님을 의지하며 걸어가야 합니다.
