하나님께 가까이 함이 내게 복이라(시편73:28)

John 8:1-11 “Humble”

Jewish leaders brought in a woman caught in adultery. Then they asked Jesus that “The Law of Moses says that a woman like this should be stoned to death! What do you say?" They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him

But Jesus simply bent over and started writing on the ground with his finger.

They kept on asking Jesus about the woman. Jesus stood up and said, "If any of you have never sinned, then go ahead and throw the first stone at her!" Once again he bent over and began writing on the ground.

The people left one by one, beginning with the oldest. Jesus and the woman were there alone.

Jesus stood up and asked her, "Where is everyone? Isn't there anyone left to accuse you?"

"No sir," the woman answered. Then Jesus told her, "I am not going to accuse you either. You may go now, but don't sin anymore."

Jesus forgave her. We are all sinned and sinner but Jesus is not. Jesus is the only one who can stone her and us. But he didn’t because He loves us and is humble himself.

We need to remember and learn these loves and humbles that Jesus showed us.

유대 종교지도자들이 간음한 여인을 예수님께로 끌고 왔습니다. 이것은(모세의 법대로 돌로 쳐죽여야 하는데) 예수님께서 어떻게 말하는 지를 살펴보고 고발할 조건을 찾기 위함이었습니다.

그러나 예수께서는 몸을 굽혀 손가락으로 땅바닥에 무엇인가 쓰셨습니다. 그들이 하도 대답을 재촉하므로 예수께서는 고개를 드시고 "너희 중에 누구든지 죄 없는 사람이 먼저 저 여자를 돌로 쳐라." 하시고 다시 몸을 굽혀 계속해서 땅바닥에 무엇인가 쓰셨습니다.

그들은 이 말씀을 듣자 나이 많은 사람부터 하나하나 가버리고 예수님과 간음한 여인만 남았습니다.

예수께서 고개를 드시고 그 여자에게 "그들은 다 어디 있느냐? 너의 죄를 묻던 사람은 아무도 없느냐?" 하고 물으셨습니다. "아무도 없습니다, 주님." 그 여자가 이렇게 대답하자 예수께서는 "나도 네 죄를 묻지 않겠다. 어서 돌아가라. 그리고 이제부터 다시는 죄짓지 마라." 하고 말씀하셨습니다.

예수님께서는 그 여인을 용서해 주셨습니다. 이 세상 모든 사람 중에 죄 없는 사람은 아무도 없습니다. 하지만 예수님은 죄가 없으십니다. 사실 예수님은 이 여인에게 그리고 죄 많은 우리에게 돌을 던질 자격이 있는 분입니다. 그러나 예수님께서는 그렇게 하지 않으셨습니다. 왜냐하면 우리를 사랑하시고 겸손하셨기 때문입니다. 우리는 이러한 예수님의 사랑과 겸손을 기억하고 배워야 합니다.
