Today in the Sunday services, we remember what God saved Korea from the yoke of Japanese colonization. In the name of assimilation, they demolished the spirit of Korea, prohibiting speaking Korean and reading the Bible. Korean Christians believed social justice practiced in the national independence was not that different from the teachings of Jesus Christ. They refused Japanese national religion in the name of idolatry. The same patterns have been found in other countries, even today. Jesus saves the oppressed. Anyone violates the commands of loving neighbors should stand against Jesus as his enemy.
